Method 1
** This method will use a wired connection for setting up the WiFi Client of NEO.
You need to connect the NEO to your router with an Ethernet cable. After that, you could connect it to your computer which is also connected to the router.
The NEO has a built-in Web Interface for setup. You can finish the setup via an Internet Browser, usually, you will have it on your device.
If your computer support mDNS, you could use the serial number of NEO plus the “.local” or “.lan” to form the URL and access the Web UI.
http://SERIAL_NUMBER.local or http://SERIAL_NUMBER.lan
For example, the serial number is NEO456789OI23456789OI234, the URL will be:
http://NEO456789OI23456789OI234.local or http://NEO456789OI23456789OI234.lan
The mDNS is supported by most Linux distributions, iOS/macOS and newer Windows.
For Android users, you may use an mDNS Discovery tool to search the _ssh._tcp service and find the IP address of your NEO. Then use that IP address to access NEO.
You may also find the NEO IP address from your router DHCP Client list.
Once you able to access the Web UI, continue with instruction in Login to NEO section.
Method 2
**This method will use wireless connection for setting up the WiFi Client of NEO.
You could use the Mobile Device or Computer and connect to the WiFi Access Point (AP) of the NEO. The SSID is leading with “MX231X_”. The WiFi password is the serial number of the NEO, all uppercase letters.
The NEO has a built-in Web Interface for setup. You can finish the setup via an Internet Browser, usually, you will have it on your device. You can use this direct IP address http://192.168.4.4 to access the Web UI.
Once you are able to access Web UI, continue with instruction in Login to NEO section.
Login to NEO
After connecting to NEO, a login page will appear. Please log in as admin and use your NEO serial number as the password (all uppercase letters).
After successful login, the dashboard will show.
Go to the “Network" page and scroll to the “WiFi Client” section. Mark the Enable checkbox, enter the SSID of your WiFi Router SSID and input the password.
Scroll down to the bottom, click the “Save and Apply” button.
After saving, the network interface of NEO will restart. It will try to reconnect again after 30 seconds. The IP address may be changed, and you need to type in the new URL when it happened.
Wait for a while, when the WiFi client is connected correctly to your router, you will see an IP address on the Dashboard.
If you are using a wired connection method to set up the WiFi Client,, you could unplug the cable and let the NEO use the WiFi connection.
